We had already established what the subject for today’s highlight of year 1 would be, but we’ve had a last minute change of heart following the delivery of a package this morning. Our friends at Hiscox were kind enough to send us a bottle of champagne along with a note congratulating us on a successful first year, which got us thinking about the key factors in getting through it. It’s not really a single highlight, but the consistent level of support from a number of our key insurer partners (Hiscox obviously included) through the course of the first year has given us a firm foundation to work from.
There aren’t many general insurance brokers starting from scratch these days (regulation and contractual obligations can make it very difficult), so we were probably perceived as an unusual challenge, and indeed risk, for many insurers. Fortunately, during our careers we’ve established good working relationships with a wide range of insurance companies and underwriters and we think this put them in a position where they could show us some faith, confident in the knowledge that we know how to do the job properly.
So, thank you to the insurers for their belief in us………….in particular Hiscox. Chin chin!
